Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a Marketing & Communications Professional/Freelance Graphic Designer. I’m made in Hong Kong, but raised in Canada and have been a Canadian Citizen for a VERY long time and counting!
I love to travel and learn about the history, culture, and people of different countries and enjoy their local cuisine. I especially love countries that are hot and beachy! While at home, as I sip on my daily cup of java, I’ll enjoy tending to my many exotic plants and patio garden with my very adorable little pup, Pekoe.

What skills are you using to volunteer at NYCH?
As a LINC Assistant, I create a safe and inviting space for the students to be able to practice and share their stories in English. I’ve really enjoyed learning about all my students, and it feels good to be able to help them in their journey to improve their English conversation skills. As a Graphic Designer, I have worked with the NYCH Team to create targeted, cohesive, on-brand digital/print material for their communications and promotion of various programs they have to offer.

What are you most passionate about?
I’m an artisan at heart! I love to draw all things in Kawaii style, especially pups and I love to craft and upcycle anything from knick-knacks to furniture in a vintage, rustic, boho style. I also really enjoy interior decorating so once my projects are finished, I style them all over my house. Maybe one day, someone will entrust my taste to help them style their homes too!

What are you currently working on?
I’m building out my small business on pinkpekoe.com and preparing to sell my art & crafts on Etsy. Please check out/ support my art and follow me at @pinkpekoe on lnstagram or visit my Facebook Page. Stay tuned for details of my upcoming art sale at a local Christmas Market. Hope to meet you there!
Diana also used her design skills to create the Volunteer Spotlight template for the Volunteer Program. You can view Diana’s personal spotlight here.
