North York Community House stands in support and solidarity with the Muslim Community in Ontario and across our country.
We are deeply saddened and horrified by the targeted attack on a Muslim family in London, Ontario earlier this week that has left four members of the family dead and one young boy injured.
This was an act of hate against a family of three generations simply because of their religious faith. Islamophobia, systemic racism, and religious discrimination continue to exist and grow in our society and we must acknowledge, educate, and do the difficult work needed to dismantle it in our communities.
Our hearts go out to all our Muslim colleagues, community members, and friends who are hurting, anxious, and grieving. We stand with you. We call for justice. We condemn hatred and discrimination in all its forms. We will continue to work tirelessly to end all forms of religious discrimination and Islamophobia, so together we can build a community where all belong and thrive.
