In 2024–2025, NYCH partnered with the Toronto InterLIP Executive Committee to launch a groundbreaking Indigenous Speaker Series.
Designed for organizations working with newcomers, the series offered meaningful opportunities to learn from Indigenous Elders, educators, and knowledge keepers. Each session explored Indigenous history, teachings, and worldviews—helping participants reflect on how to respectfully embed Indigenous knowledge into newcomer programs and services.
This film by Taras Hemon is a glimpse into this special series.
