Mentoring during the Pandemic

With the evolving pandemic, the education system has been significantly impacted worldwide from elementary schools to universities.

When schools closed down, I felt it was more important than ever to stay connected as a community.

I became a mentor at North York Community House (NYCH).

As a mentor, I worked closely with NYCH to provide a virtual educational program to accommodate the needs of students.

I have such a fun time mentoring and tutoring students in Science and the students really appreciate the learning environment. It is interactive and fun!

We also had a movie night which allowed community members to join Zoom and have a fun night after work!

Moreover, in order to make a contribution in my community, I am currently collecting recycled electronic devices for individuals to donate to families who are in need of them.

It has been a rewarding experience volunteering with NYCH and I am looking forward to more events!
